Inauguration of 3 projects in Sri Lanka for the ADB Disease Resilient & Energy Efficient Buildings Challenge.
Introduction
Airveda is thrilled to announce the inauguration of three projects in Sri Lanka which were funded as part of the Asian Development Bank challenge - Disease Resilient and Energy-Efficient Centralized Air-Conditioning Systems.
For context, team Parivartan's solution led by Airveda, BreatheEasy Consultants and Environmental Design Solutions was granted 295K USD to implement and enhance indoor air quality, disease resilience in the face of COVID-19 and energy efficiency in key three crucial projects in public buildings across Sri Lanka by Asian Development Bank as part of the Challenge.
The three public sites are Postal Office Headquarters, Sri Lanka Standards Institute and State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation.
Postal Office Headquarters, Colombo
The Sri Lankan post office, long plagued by malfunctioning air conditioning, underwent a transformative overhaul with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Parivartan team. Through a comprehensive retrofitting initiative, modern air conditioning systems were seamlessly integrated, providing much-needed comfort to the building's occupants.
In addition, Airveda's advanced IAQ monitoring devices and energy management solutions were deployed, ensuring optimal indoor air quality and efficient energy usage. This collaborative effort has not only revitalized the post office but also set a new standard for comfort, productivity, and sustainability within the community.
Sri Lanka Standards Institute
SLSI had an archaic air conditioning system based on split ACs, with very high energy usage, and little fresh air intake. Through a comprehensive retrofitting initiative, modern air conditioning systems and fresh air systems with heat recovery wheels were seamlessly integrated, providing an energy efficient solution as well as much-needed comfort to the building's occupants. Airveda air and energy monitoring along with dashboards and displays were set up to control fresh air as well as monitor energy usage and air quality indoors.
State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation
At SPMC labs, the challenge was twofold: high VOC levels from chemicals causing discomfort and an outdated, energy-intensive HVAC system. The Parivartan team replaced the antiquated HVAC system with a modern, energy-efficient one, slashing energy usage by 40%. Additionally, specialized filters were installed to significantly reduce TVOCs, improving indoor air quality. Airveda's cutting-edge monitors were deployed for both energy and air quality monitoring, and real-time data was showcased on TV displays, providing stakeholders with invaluable insights into the lab's environment. This comprehensive approach not only enhances comfort but also promotes a healthier and more sustainable workspace for all occupants.
Airveda’s Solution: Energy Meter Monitoring
In addressing the pressing need for enhanced energy efficiency, Airveda spearheaded a tailored solution focusing on energy monitoring across the three projects in Sri Lanka.
At the heart of this initiative lies Airveda's cutting-edge energy monitoring technology, meticulously designed to provide real-time insights and facilitate informed decision-making. By leveraging IOT solutions and data analytics, Airveda's solution enables precise tracking and optimization of energy consumption within the facilities.
Through strategic deployment of energy monitoring devices and intuitive dashboards, stakeholders gain unparalleled visibility into energy usage patterns, identifying areas of inefficiency and opportunities for improvement. This proactive approach not only ensures cost savings but also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon footprint.
Moreover, Airveda's energy monitoring solution serves as a foundation for future automation initiatives, empowering organizations to implement dynamic control systems that further enhance energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
By integrating energy monitoring seamlessly into the fabric of the projects, Airveda has not only delivered immediate benefits but has also paved the way for sustained progress towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable future for these buildings.
